About Us

Established by Title 28, Chapter 517 of the Connecticut General Statues, to provide an environment for the coordination of all available resources to protect the life and property of the residents of Washington in the event any disaster, crisis, or emergency; natural or  created.

Washington has great partnerships with LCD (Litchfield County Dispatch);  Regional Council of Government with Support plans;  Mutual Aid from neighboring fire and ambulance Departments; support from CT Region 5 Emergency Coordinator (CTDESPP/DEMHS) ; CT State Police, Troop L and Washington Resident Trooper Office; support and coordination with our public and independent schools;  Eversource power & Frontier Communication & Spectrum Cable companies;  Northville Amateur Radio Communication Assocation

The Town’s Emergency Service Departments,  continue with preparation, training, professional development  and system improvements.  Interaction with the school system to invoke, SAFE SCHOOL policies, with exercises and interaction. 

The current challenge is not to rest on our laurels  - but all of us, public and private alike to continue the planning cycle with the “All Hazard” approach; as the circle returns to mitigate, preparation and education.
