Board of Assessment Appeals

The Board of Assessment Appeals reminds all property owners that anyone wishing to seek an appeal of the assessed value of their property in Washington must file a request for a hearing, i. e., application for appeal hearing, before the Board of Assessment Appeals.  An application to request a hearing can be obtained from the Assessor's office in Bryan Memorial Town Hall, or may be downloaded here: BAA Appeals Application - Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicles - March 2024

  • Completed forms, with supporting documentation, must be filed in-office by end of business on or before February 20th.  Whenever February 20th falls on a weekend or holiday the due date is the previous business day.  Please note postmarks are not considered timely filings.
  • After fully completed, timely filed applications are accepted by the Board, individual appointments to meet with the Board are scheduled to take place during the month of March. Residents may authorize an agent to represent them before the Board. Owner or agent must appear in person for appeal to be considered.
