Zoning Commission
PLEASE SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT BEFORE VISITING THE LAND USE OFFICE
The Zoning Commission governs buildings, structures, and uses in Town according to the provisions of the Washington Zoning Regulations. Zoning permits are required for all buildings and building additions such as dormers, decks, and breezeways, for structures such as pools, signs, fences, patios, pergolas, docks, etc., and for both residential and commercial uses.
FOR ALL APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS:
ALL PLANS AND DRAWINGS MUST BE FOLDED TO FIT INTO LEGAL SIZE FOLDER - UNFOLDED PLANS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
SPECIAL PERMIT APPLICATIONS:
Applicants must use the Town of Washington's online permitting system to apply for a Special Permit, a Modification to an existing Special Permit, and a Renewal of an existing Special Permit. Supporting documentation for Special Permit Applications, such as plans, reports, etc. must be submitted to the Land Use Office on WEDNESDAY before the Zoning Commission meeting (Zoning Commission meets on the 4th Monday of each month - please see meeting calendar).
FOR ALL PUBLIC HEARINGS: Interested persons may appear and be heard and written communications will be received. Written communications must be signed to be considered. Please submit all communications to swhite@washingtonct.org. The petition/application is on file in the Land Use Office, please call the office or email trill@washingtonct.org to make an appointment to review the file or email a request for a digital copy of the file.
