ZONING COMMISSION

MEETING MINUTES

March 24, 2014

Present:  Mr. Solley, Mr. Werkhoven, Mr. Averill, Mr. Reich

Alternates Present: Mr. Sivick, Alt., Mr. Sorce, Alt.

Absent: Mr. Fitzherbert, Mr. Wyant, Alt.

Staff Present:  Ms. White, Ms. Hill

Others Present: 

Mr. Solley called the meeting to order at 7:30p.m.

REGULAR MEETING

Consideration of the Minutes

The Commission considered the February 24, 2014 Regular Meeting Minutes of the Town of Washington Zoning Commission.

 

Corrections:

Farman should be spelled Farmen throughout the document.

Pg. 2 – under Rumsey Hall School/201 Romford Road/Dorm Replacement:, 4th paragraph, 1st sentence should read:  Mr. Farmen stated that they are proposing to replace this one dorm with two smaller dorms each with two faculty apartments

 

Motion:           to accept the Zoning Meeting Minutes of January 27, 2014 as submitted, by Mr. Reich, seconded by Mr. Averill, passed by 4-0 vote. 

 

New Applications

There were no new applications.

 

Other Business 

Revision of Zoning Regulations Sections 2-12:

The commissioners considered the Revisions of the Zoning Regulations Sections 2-12, which they discussed at the Zoning Meeting Public Hearing on February 24, 2014.

 

Mr. Solley stated that he feels that section 6.6.6.c should be clarified by rewording the section by adding: “no float should exceed a height of 4 feet above the water.”

 

The commissioners and Ms. Hill discussed the change in wording.

 

There were no further questions or comments.

Ms. Hill distributed her evaluation regarding possible questions, issues and possible revisions for Section 13-21 of the Town of Washington Zoning Regulations.

 

A meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Bryan Memorial Town Hall at 9:30 am for the Zoning Regulations Revisions Subcommittee to discuss possible revisions for Sections 13-21.

 

Communications

Ms. Hill submitted a letter addressed to Town of Washington Zoning Commissioners & Planning Commissioners, from Protect Washington, dated March 24, 2014 to the commissioners.  There was a brief discussion.  The commissioners felt that they would not be able to discuss this anonymous letter that contains comments that they do not know to be true or false.

 

Enforcement

Enforcement Report: 

The Zoning Enforcement Report dated March 24, 2014 was distributed. (On file in Land Use Office).

 

Privilege of the Floor

There was no one present from the public at this time.

Adjournment

Motion:           to adjourn at 7:55 pm. by Mr. Averill, seconded by Mr. Werkhoven. 

 

Mr. Solley adjourned the meeting.
