TOWN OF WASHINGTON
ANNUAL TOWN BUDGET MEETINGThe voters and electors of the Town of Washington are hereby warned that the Annual Town Budget Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at Bryan Memorial Town Hall, Washington, Connecticut, to consider and act upon the following agenda:
- To consider and act upon the proposed General Fund Expenses for the 2004-2005 fiscal year.
- To consider and act upon the proposed Nonrecurring Capital Expenses for the 2004-2005 fiscal year.
- To consider and act upon an Ordinance regarding the terms of office for the First Selectman, members of the Board of Selectmen, Tax Collector and Treasurer. [See complete Ordinance text below.]
- To consider and act upon the formal discontinuance of Old Bee Brook Road, running between the current Bee Brook Road and Buffum Road, fronting on parcels 4-10/1, 4-10/2, 4-10/3, 4-10/4 and 4-10/5 as designated on the Town Assessor's Map.
- To consider and act upon the formal discontinuance of a section of Bantam River Road (also known as Lower Mt. Tom Road), at the junction of Upper Mount Tom Road and Mount Tom Road, between the western boundary line of parcel 2-12/68 and the northeast corner of parcel 2-12/65 as designated on the Town Assessor's Map.
- To consider and act upon the formal discontinuance of a section of West Mountain Road, between the western boundary line of parcel 2-2/8 and the western boundary line of parcel 2-2/7a as designated on the Town Assessor's Map.

ORDINANCETerms of Office for First Selectman, Members of the Board of Selectmen, Tax Collector and Treasurer for the Town of Washington
Pursuant to Section 9-187, 9-187a, 9-189 and 9-189a of the Connecticut General Statutes, commencing with the next regular election after this ordinance is adopted, and thereafter, the terms of office for the offices of First Selectman, Members of the Board of Selectmen, Tax Collector and Treasurer shall be four years from the second Tuesday next following the day of the municipal election at which such officials are elected. The terms for any of the above offices shall continue until a successor for such office is elected and has qualified. All provisions of any ordinance of the Town of Washington that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed. This ordinance shall become effective 15 days after publication.
