Invitation to Bid
The Town of Washington is seeking bids for a 2007 4 x 4 heavy duty dump truck, delivered complete with an Air-Flo body and plow hitch. In addition, the Town is seeking to trade in a 1992 International 4900 4 x 4 with plow and sander (available for inspection at the Town Highway Garage) but reserves the right to sell this truck separately.
Sealed bids will be accepted until 4:00p.m. on April 5, 2006 at the Office of the First Selectman, Bryan Memorial Town Hall, 2 Bryan Plaza, Post Office Box 383, Washington Depot, CT 06794. Bids will be opened at 4:30p.m. at a Special Board of Selectmen's meeting.

Engineering Services
The Board of Selectmen extend an invitation to bid for the engineering of a drainage project on Plumb Hill Road in Washington. Services are requested to establish a storm drainage system approximately 3/10 of a mile in length, starting at SNET pole # 2883 and extending southerly to the intersection with CT Route 47.
Sealed bids will be received until 4:00 p.m. on February 23, 2006 at the Office of the First Selectman, Bryan Memorial Town Hall, 2 Bryan Plaza, P.O. Box 383, Washington Depot, CT 06794. These bids will be opened and read aloud at the Board of Selectmen’s meeting following at 4:30 p.m.

Board of Assessment Appeals
The Board of Assessment Appeals reminds all property owners that anyone wishing to seek an adjustment of the assessed value of their property in Washington must file a request for a hearing before the Board of Assessment Appeals by February 20, 2006.
A form to request a hearing can be obtained from the Tax Assessor's office in Bryan Memorial Town Hall. Once completed forms with documentation are submitted (by February 20, 2006), individual appointments to meet with the Board will be scheduled to take place during the month of March 2006. Residents may authorize an agent to represent them before the Board. Owner or agent must appear in person for appeal to be considered.
The form is available online or at the Assessor's Office. For further information, residents should contact Tax Assessor, Barbara S. Johnson, in her office in the Town Hall or call 868-0398.
