The Major Stephen Reich Award for Exceptional Citizenship
The purpose of this award is to recognize a Washington citizen who stands out among the many people who give so much, in so many ways, to our community. This award honors Stephen’s memory by honoring an individual that demonstrates the qualities of character, service, leadership, and achievement that exemplified Stephen’s life. As usual, the committee will be presenting this year’s award on Memorial Day in front of the Washington Town Hall following the parade.
To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Major Stephen Reich Award for Exceptional Citizenship, we have launched a new website at http://www.majorreichaward.com where you can find further details about the award, bios on past winners, as well as an online submission form.
We are seeking nominations from the community again this year. Nominations need to be in writing and should chronicle the nominee's contributions in as much detail as possible. All nominations will be considered by the four principles that exemplified Stephen’s life: character, leadership, achievement, and service.
Nominations can be submitted in three ways:
1) Visit our website and click on “Submit a Nomination”
2) By mail to Sheila Anson, Town Clerk, Town of Washington, PO BOX 383, Washington Depot, CT 06794
3) Hand deliver to Sheila Anson’s office on the main level of the Bryan Memorial Town Hall.We will be accepting nominations through April 30th, 2010.
