A referendum is scheduled for Tuesday, December 18, 2007, in Regional School District #12's three towns regarding appropriating $1,550,000 for costs of design, construction and installation of various improvements to Shepaug Valley Middle/High School, and authorize the issue of bonds and temporary notes in the same amount to finance the appropriation. The question to be placed on the voting machines shall read as follows:

    Open Space in Spring 07 Town Newsletter

    As of the end of 2006, approximately 5,600 acres or 22.6% of Washington has become permanently protected open space. In addition, about 4,577 acres of forestland, plus 2,905 acres of farmland (7,482 acres) or 30% of Town are temporarily protected under PA 490.

    "Open space" is defined as "land permanently preserved for agriculture, forestry, recreation, wildlife habitat, natural resources conservation, maintenance of community character or as undeveloped land."(Open Space Plan 2002 & TPOCD 2003 p. 3-5)) The Town goal is to permanently protect 30% by 2015.

    Open Space in Spring 07 Town Newsletter

    As of the end of 2006, approximately 5,600 acres or 22.6% of Washington has become permanently protected open space. In addition, about 4,577 acres of forestland, plus 2,905 acres of farmland (7,482 acres) or 30% of Town are temporarily protected under PA 490.

    "Open space" is defined as "land permanently preserved for agriculture, forestry, recreation, wildlife habitat, natural resources conservation, maintenance of community character or as undeveloped land."(Open Space Plan 2002 & TPOCD 2003 p. 3-5)) The Town goal is to permanently protect 30% by 2015.

    Open Space in Spring 07 Town Newsletter

    As of the end of 2006, approximately 5,600 acres or 22.6% of Washington has become permanently protected open space. In addition, about 4,577 acres of forestland, plus 2,905 acres of farmland (7,482 acres) or 30% of Town are temporarily protected under PA 490.

    "Open space" is defined as "land permanently preserved for agriculture, forestry, recreation, wildlife habitat, natural resources conservation, maintenance of community character or as undeveloped land."(Open Space Plan 2002 & TPOCD 2003 p. 3-5)) The Town goal is to permanently protect 30% by 2015.
