The above towns are sponsoring this annual event in an effort to reduce local environmental dangers. A licensed transporter will safely dispose of all household hazardous wastes that have acculated in your residence. You must bring proof of residence. The contractor and towns reserve the right to reject some materials or impose disposal fees. Sorry, this disposal service is not open to businesses or institutions. If you are unable to bring the material yourself, please ask a friend or neighbor.
Bring Do NOT Bring From the House: From the Garage:
- drain or oven cleaners
- old chemistry sets
- metal polish
- arts and craft supplies
- photo chemicals
- floor cleaners
- dry cleaning fluids
- wood preservatives
- wood strippers
- septic system cleaners
- paint thinner
- chips from removed lead based paint
(place in plastic bag)From the Yard:
- rust preventatives
- oil based paints
(combined into one can if possible)- transmission fluid
- solvents & degreasers
- sealants
- antifreeze & brake fluid
- engine & radiator cleaners
- flashlight & other small batteries
- dioxin, silver or 2,4,5-T
- kerosene
- PCB contaminated items
Electronics:
- pesticides & herbicides
(in 5 gallon or smaller containers)- insect spray & rodent killers
- pool chemicals
- muriatic acid
- no-pest strips
- computers
- monitors
- printers, scanners
- fax machines
- TV's
Do Not Bring - Recycle Instead:
- latex paint
(let dry, then can go safely to landfill)- asbestos
- propane, freon or unknown gases
- tires
- infectious or medical wastes
- smoke detectors
- fire extinguishers
- explosives & highly reactive materials
- garbage
- gas cylinders
- ammunition, fireworks (call police)
- radioactive materials
- controlled substances/drugs
(Take to Clark Road Transfer Station)
