225th Anniversary Celebration

It has been 225 years since this part of Northwest Connecticut, formerly known as Judea, was incorporated and given the name Washington. In that time the town has seen much change. The mills have come and gone, the farms have dwindled to just a few and the great flood of 1955 left the depot unrecognizable. Washington as we know it now is a peaceful, scenic small town, with a diverse population of singles, couples and families - some of whom have been here for generations. It is a place where people come to raise their children, retire, enjoy the country setting, find meaningful relationships, and get to know their neighbors.

Washington will be celebrating its rich history with a series of Anniversary events. Watch for more information regarding the events listed here, as well as additional happenings. There is an Anniversary bullet! in board located in the lobby of Bryan Memorial Town Hall. For more information or to get involved, please contact the Selectman's Office 860-868-2259.
